Our new pets!

A week after I got Layla I went to feed her and discovered she had escaped, I was very upset considering a lot of money had been spent on the vivarium and everything I needed to keep her only to find she had escaped due to the fact the pet shop had given me a display vivarium which didn't close properly at the top. I had taped it down but the tape had become unstuck so here I was with a viv and no snake so dad decided to buy me a new one so off we went to a different pet shop, Reptile Haven (will never buy from the shop I got Layla from again) and Ben the fella we talked to was great, he had a brilliant selection of morphs (different coloration's) and I came home with an amel corn snake who I called Marley.

An hour after we got home with Marley Ryan picked up the towel I had put at the door to stop Layla from getting out from under the door and who fell out of the towel only Layla so I now have two gorgeous snakes.

Ryan has also expanded his pet collection with a new spider.
Photobucket
This is Scarlet and she is a Mexican red knee tarantula. She will flick the hairs on her legs and body when she doesn't want to be handled. They don't hurt but can irritate your eyes if you rub them after holding her so hands have to be washed straight away!

Been a quiet month!!

Well this month I didn't get a lot of crafting done but did manage to get a few bits done.
Photobucket
This card was for a swap on the Celtic Crafters forum which I joined recently & it was my first time to do a card for another crafter so it was a little daunting for me but thankfully Babs was happy enough with it!
Photobucket
Again these inchies were for the swap on Celtic Crafters & I was an inchie virgin so I hope Elaine was happy with them (reminds me I must check if she received them)
And these are what I got in return
Photobucket
I'm keeping these as they are the first inchies I have ever received
and I can't bear to part with them
This was the ATC I sent to Di

and in return I received this

My first ATC
It looks much better in real life, really glittery!
This is an order I got to alter & personalize a scrapbook. It was the first time I tried it and was happy with the results. The customer was also happy with it and paid extra for it!!!

This is another altered notebook, I love doing these but have yet to do one for myself!

I cut the lettering and the flowers on the craftrobo and colored them using alchol inks.

Meet Layla.

Well I finally got my new pet. She is a corn snake & is only a wee little thing at the moment. She joined the family last Wednesday, shed her skin on Thursday morning & ate on Thursday afternoon with no problems whatsoever.

Here are the kids getting to know Layla a little better.

My latest makes.

Photobucket
The shoe on this is a digi stamp & I got the link for it from Cecilia over on the Cara Craft Supplies forum. I think this is one I will use a lot.
Photobucket
I used my craftrobo to do the lettering on this card & then used alcohol inks (a tecnique I first tried at one of Jackie Mooney's workshops) to colour the letters.
Photobucket
I used one of Ger's Little Snippet hand bags on this card, I just love these & I am building up quite a collection of them now.

Jackie Mooney's September Workshop.

I had a brilliant day at Jackie's workshop on the 13th of September. There wasn't an August workshop so I was getting withdrawal sympthoms waiting for the September workshop & praying it wouldn't fall on the first weekend in September (normally when the workshops are on) as I had a wedding to go to & some one must of heard my prayers as Jackie decided to have it on the second weekend.
These are the cards we got to do & I had great fun doing them.
Photobucket
I love the cameo in this one & it was a nice easy card to do.
Photobucket
Another quick & easy one but so cute, I love the little verse in this one & the teddy is sooooooo cute.
Photobucket
Tilda was coloured using promarkers & the little picket fence was core'dinations whitewash card & when sanded looked like a well worn fence.
PhotobucketPhotobucket
This is a great idea & I just adore those big big daisies.
Photobucket
Last but not least is this very elegant shoe card that I was delighted to get to do after seeing it on the Cara Craft Supplies forum.

My first ATC's

I have been thinking about starting these for a long time now but just never got around to it but now I have I have to admit I am well and truly hooked.
Photobucket
This is my first one ever and it is called "Pink to make the boys wink" and was inspired by Lily who loves everything pink!
Photobucket
This is the injury I incurred while making my first ATC, who ever would have thought crafting would be so hazardous.
Photobucket
This one is called "Spots and dots just for you" and is the first of a series of 4, now I will have to do another 3 of these lol!

Watch this space!!!!!

I am getting a new pet the second week in September & can't wait!!!!
Every one else here has their own pet barr me, Steff has his pigeons, Ryan has fangs & Lily has tweety & his girlfriend & Lucky is a family pet but I can't even walk her.
My new pet will be very very low maintainance and is something I have always wanted from the time I was knee high to a grass hopper.
